Essential Oils that Zap Zits

My journey to find natural, glowing and clear skin has been a long one. If there's one thing that can make me feel self-conscious, it's blemishes on my face. Being the first thing people see, blemishes on my face can make us not want to go out in the world, or make us feel like we need to cake on a bunch of foundation and powder trying to cover it up and achieve the flawless skin we see everyday on Instagram, Models, Advertisements and all the other media we are inundated by.

I have never been a fan of makeup. Once in a while I'll brush on some Sheer Cover mineral powder. I love it's lightweight feel and excellent coverage. But even still, I don't want to wear it every day. I wear it on special occasions when I'm getting dressed up.

Fortunately, after a long, experimental journey to discover natural solutions for my skin, I'm figuring it out, and I can confidently wear my own skin out every day. daily pimples are now rare. But when I do, I love having an essential oil roller bottle on hand to spot treat. It quickly, easily and effectively disappears those little buggers.

If you're curious about what it took for me to achieve clear skin, finally, check out my post on it. What you'll see if you read it, is that food intolerances can trigger reactions in our skin. I don't feel any discomfort when I eat the foods that trigger acne in my skin, but I do notice blemishes, always, within a day or two of eating them. Given that one of my intolerances are vegetables in the Allium family (i.e. garlic and onions), its really difficult to avoid in all circumstances 100% of the time. So, I have to deal with the occasional eruption.

When I see a little reddish area appear on my skin, a sure indication for me that something is brewing underneath, I grab my roller bottle, and dab it on. If I can't catch it in time and the prevent the pimple from popping up, the roller bottle still helps speed the healing time. The recipe below can be used on the back, neck & chest as well as the face.

Zit Zapper Roller Bottle (10mL)

15 drops Lavender Essential Oil

10 drops Tea Tree (Melaleuca) Essential Oil

5 drops Juniper Berry Essential Oil *

5 drops Frankincense Essential Oil *

5 drops Hawaiian Sandalwood Essential Oil *

The Essential Oils with the * are optional for this recipe, but they are effective and beneficial additions to this recipe. Rest assured, if you made a Zit Zapper with only Lavender and Melaleuca Essential Oils, it will prevent most pimples from fully emerging and speed the healing of the rest.

My girlfriend loves to add Lemongrass essential oil to her roller bottle, which uses the same base as mine. Sometimes I add Cedarwood Essential Oil as well, which is an effective addition for acne spot treatments on the skin.

If you're not a DIY'er, check out this pre-made and highly effective blend called HD Clear that is made with Black Cumin, Ho Wood, Melaleuca, Litsea, Eucalyptus and Geranium. (Follow the steps to buy it for 25% off)
